We tend not to keep more than one male on the premises. We find this is a good strategy for keeping everything in the cattery on an even keel. We also prefer not to cage males. Max, our male lives in our guest room with lots of windows (and sun and light). He has a companion, our fourteen year old (rescued) tortoise shell and white spay. They are good friends.
Max is a homozygous ruddy male meaning he only produces ruddy kittens (or at least that has been the case so far). His kittens often have green eyes, too (as does he).
We partner with several breeders and we turn to them if we wish to produce other colors (red, blue, fawn).
